Summary
A Supported Living Maintenance Technician is
responsible for ensuring that supported living services
and their facilities are safe, well-maintained, and fully
operational.
They play a vital role in promoting the safety, comfort,
and dignity of the individuals we support, as well as
providing a safe working environment for colleagues.
Their work includes routine maintenance checks, timely
repairs, and accurate record-keeping to ensure that every
home remains a safe and welcoming place.
It’s important that Supported Living Maintenance
Technicians serve as positive role models and can carry
out a variety of practical tasks such as decorating,
gardening, basic plumbing, and general repairs.
having a 17th Edition Electrical
Certificate is advantageous but not essential. If you don’t
already have it, we’d encourage you to be willing to work
towards it.
You’ll also need to demonstrate a broad skill set to meet
the expectations of this role. Essential skills include:
Practical experience across a range of maintenance
tasks as listed in the job description
A working knowledge of relevant health and safety
legislation
The ability to follow organisational policies and
procedures
Confidence in using a variety of hand tools and
equipment
Highly desirable skills include:
The ability to work independently while meeting
deadlines and targets
Strong time management and the ability to prioritise
and delegate tasks effectively
Clear written and verbal communication, with strong
interpersonal skills
Experience working alongside or supervising external
contractors
Confidence in advising and supporting others with
maintenance-related issues
