This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Adult Social Services Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £26,213.11 - £28,435.14 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

It takes a special kind of person to undertake the role of a Community Support Worker.

Are you caring, reliable, motivated and friendly?

Do you want to work with people and make a difference to their lives from the support you give?

Can you support people to achieve their personal outcomes?

If you can answer "yes" then you have the qualities that we are looking for to be part of our team.

The main purpose of the role is to support the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of Individuals with learning disabilities who have Autism and challenging behaviours. You will need to have a person-centred approach to promote choice and independence whilst making peoples' days enjoyable and meaningful.

This role requires the successful applicant to be able and confident to undertake Positive Behaviour Management training that requires physical interventions.

The service is working towards providing weekend and early evening support and you will be required to work on a rota basis as and when required.

For the role, we ask that you have:

1. A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Care on the Credit and Qualifications Framework or the commitment and ability to attain the qualification within 1 year of appointment (subject to availability of training).
2. An understanding of disability issues such as empowerment, choice and advocacy.
3. The ability to contribute and effectively implement individual Management plans and Risk Assessments.
4. A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence to drive a leased Council vehicle to transport individuals regularly throughout the day. In order to undertake the post it is compulsory for the post holder to pass a driving assessment as determined by the insurance liabilities of the lease hire vehicle

We have excellent benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme and staff discount schemes.

After reading the Job Description and Person Specification on our website, if you would like to have an informal discussion about the role, please contact Esther Jenkins/Rhaynnon Duggan via email Jenkie4@caerphilly.gov.uk / Duggar@caerphilly.gov.uk
