Location: Cunard Building, Water Street, Liverpool (Hybrid: Ideally 2 days on site per week)
Contract Type: Interim (Agency Worker)
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:30 Pay Rate: £420.00 PAYE / £554.86 Umbrella

Liverpool City Council is seeking a proactive and strategically minded Finance Manager (Capital) to play a key leadership role in the delivery of its capital finance function.
About the Role
This is a crucial position within the Finance & Resources directorate, supporting statutory finance requirements and contributing to ongoing service reviews. You'll provide expert financial oversight on capital projects, lead a high-performing team, and partner with stakeholders to drive value and compliance across the council’s capital programme.
✅ Ideal Candidate Profile
Proven capital accounting experience within a local authority
Strong leadership, change management, and stakeholder engagement skills
Solid command of Microsoft Excel (Intermediate+ level)
Professionally qualified (CCAB/CIMA) or AAT with extensive experience
