Summary

Attendance Officer - Supporting Engagement & Inclusion | Alternative Provision | S41 Chesterfield | September Start

Long Term Futures are seeking a committed and proactive Attendance Officer to join our team from September 2025. Based at (S41) and working across multiple campuses, this key role involves supporting students with SEMH and behavioural needs by improving attendance and engagement across the academy. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a flexible, supportive environment where your work truly matters, whether you're on-site or working remotely on data and reporting.

What You'll Be Doing
- Tracking attendance daily, identifying trends in persistent/severe absence
- Conducting home visits and liaising with parents/carers to support re-engagement
- Collaborating with pastoral teams, SEND staff, and external agencies
- Ensuring attendance registers are compliant with DfE requirements
- Supporting the implementation of rewards and interventions to encourage good attendance
- Preparing formal documentation for penalty notices and contributing to wider attendance strategy
- Analysing data each half-term to target intervention and support planning

Who We're Looking For
- Previous experience supporting students with SEMH, SEND, or in Alternative Provision
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust with families
- Confident using data systems to monitor trends and identify priorities
- A flexible diary and access to your own vehicle (essential - mileage reimbursed)
- Calm, resilient, and creative in your approach to student support
- A proactive attitude and commitment to inclusion, equality, and safeguarding
