Summary
1:1 Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 1 (ADHD Support)

A supportive and inclusive mainstream primary school in the Salford area is seeking a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Key Stage 1 pupil who has a diagnosis of ADHD.
This is a full-time role, ideal for someone with a passion for supporting neurodiverse children and with the skills to make a real impact in a young learner's educational journey.
The Role:
-Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a child with ADHD within a Key Stage 1 classroom.
-Supporting the pupil's focus, engagement, and emotional regulation throughout the school day.
-Implementing tailored strategies to support concentration and behaviour in line with the child's individual needs and any existing EHCP.
-Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external agencies to ensure consistent support and progress.
-Encouraging positive social interactions and emotional wellbeing in a nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
-Key Stage 1 experience is essential - an understanding of support strategies at that level is beneficial for adapting learning to meet individual needs.
-A proactive, calm, and patient approach to behaviour management.
-Experience working 1:1 with children with ADHD or similar neurodevelopmental needs.
-Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with the child and collaborate effectively with staff and parents.
-A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service - this is a mandatory requirement.
