Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Preschool Deputy Manager to join our team. This is a predominantly classroom-based role, where you will take a hands-on approach to leading best practice, supporting staff, and ensuring a high standard of care and education for all children. You will play a crucial role in fostering a positive and inclusive environment, handling conflict resolution, and maintaining compliance through audits and observations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead by example in the classroom, modelling best practice in early years education and care.
Support, mentor and coach staff to ensure high-quality teaching and interactions with children.
Oversee the daily running of the preschool, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
Provide constructive feedback to staff through regular observations and audits to maintain high standards.
Promote positive behaviour management strategies and guide staff in resolving conflicts effectively.
Conduct regular audits of learning environments, planning, and safeguarding procedures to ensure compliance with EYFS standards.
Work closely with the Manager to implement improvements and maintain a high-quality provision.
Develop strong relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a supportive preschool environment.
Support with training and development opportunities for the team.
Step in for the Manager as required and ensure continuity of leadership.
Manage and oversee the booking of children and sessions using Famly software, ensuring accurate record-keeping and smooth scheduling.
Requirements:
Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
Proven experience in a leadership role within an early years setting.
Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding policies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage conflicts professionally.
Experience in conducting audits, observations, and delivering feedback to improve practice.
A hands-on approach to leadership, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
