Job Description
As Sophie is home schooled full time, we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-driven personal assistant for her, to join her team of physiotherapist, music therapist, teaching assistant and personal assistants.
The ideal candidate would play an important role in Sophie’s education, and develop sensory activities supporting the targets within her EHCP (Education Health Care Plan). Hence experience in SEN, PMLD, as well as special needs care, would be of great advantage. The necessary training would be provided, particularly in moving and handling and specific health needs.
The ideal candidate would need to have a keen interest in getting to know Sophie, develop a relationship with her and interact with her as part of her educational programme (which involves a lot of fun sensory play and taking her out to hydrotherapy sessions and to the local park!), whilst supporting her personal/medical needs.
We are a very supportive family and will provide the training required, specially from a health perspective. Educational resources such as TacPac and Twinkl will be provided. The hours and days are flexible and would be up to 20 hours per week, so there is plenty of scope for finding the right balance for both parties.
We very much operate as a team and support each other by sharing ideas and expertise as we progress on this journey together.
Please note - Start date from 1st August or earlier if suitable for both employer and personal assistant. This is to be discussed at interview.
