Crynodeb
We are looking for a kind, adaptable, and dependable female PA to provide personal support for a wheelchair-bound individual living with MS. The condition has progressed over time but is currently stable. The individual is unable to use their arms or hands and requires full assistance with daily living tasks.
The purpose of this role will be to assist the individual in maintaining independence and improving quality of life through this support. Providing regular, friendly company and conversation, and engaging in shared activities such as: Going shopping and into the local town Centre, Watching TV - in particular conspiracy theories and game shows.
Part of this role will require you too push and manoeuvre a large wheelchair, ensuring the safety and comfort of the individual at all times. This may involve navigating various environments - including indoors, outdoors and potentially uneven terrain.
A very small element of personal care may be required with toileting - however this will be minimal and may not be required at all.
The individual has a large network of family and friends and is well supported by a strong social circle. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with this support network to ensure consistent, person-centred care.
Support will be required across multiple days during the week - the support breakdown is below -
Monday & Tuesday 2.5 hours and times can be negotiated.
Wednesday & Thursday 5 hours and times can be negotiated.
The role includes providing household support and carrying out general cleaning duties to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment. Tasks may include tidying, vacuuming, laundry, and other routine domestic activities.
There is No specific training required for this role; however, a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn are essential.
The individual can occasionally be set in his ways, so the ability to respond with patience, kindness, and a friendly, adaptable approach is important. Building trust and maintaining a respectful, person-centred attitude is key to success in this role.
The property is a non-smoking environment. Vaping is permitted outside only. Please note this is a no pet household.
