Summary
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Band 6 midwife/Nurse to step up into a Band 7 diabetic specialist Nurse role.
We are looking for a highly motivated Midwife/Nurse with excellent clinical and leadership skills to join the team.
The post holder will be responsible for providing diabetic care to pregnant women, coordinating and develop services provided to pregnant women with Type I, Type II or Gestational Diabetes.
The post holder will provide effective leadership role working closely with the diabetic team to the diabetes/pregnancy team and act as lead nurse on diabetes in maternity services.
The post holder will work collaboratively with the other diabetes team members; contribute to the education and the professional development of staff in the acute and primary care setting. He/she will be actively involved in client/family education, supporting midwives and GP’s to provide on-going antenatal care and planning care for clients. The post holder will be responsible for auditing, monitoring and evaluating the service provided.
