Estate Caretaker
Salary: £24,942.16 – £25,636.39
Hours: Full-time – 37 hours/week
Location: Bournville, Birmingham, B30 1QY

At Bournville Village Trust (BVT), we’re proud of our heritage, but we’re even more excited about our future. As we continue to evolve, we’re launching a brand-new Estate Caretaking service that will play a vital role in creating clean, green, and safe neighbourhoods where our residents are proud to live. This is your opportunity to be part of something from the ground up – to shape how this new service develops and make a real, lasting impact on our communities.

We’re on the lookout for dedicated, hands-on Estates Caretakers to join our Birmingham team and bring this new service to life.

We aspire to having a diverse and inclusive workforce. To help achieve this, we offer job opportunities that are agile and centred on personal and professional development in an environment where well-being and work-life balance is a key part of our culture.

Job Profile
As the first Estates Caretakers in our brand-new Caretaking service, you’ll be at the heart of our neighbourhoods, making sure that every space you look after is clean, safe, and welcoming. Whether it’s a residential block, a play area, or a public green space, you’ll take pride in maintaining the highest possible standards across all our estates.

Your day-to-day work will involve a wide range of practical tasks, from litter bin collections and graffiti removal to carrying out minor maintenance tasks and ensuring the grounds look immaculate. You’ll also be responsible for routine safety inspections, carrying out health and safety compliance checks, identifying potential issues and making sure they’re reported and addressed quickly, effectively and rectified.

This role isn’t just about practical work, it’s about community. You’ll regularly engage with residents, offering a friendly and approachable presence and helping to build strong relationships based on trust and reliability. You’ll also work closely with contractors and your colleagues across BVT, acting as the eyes and ears on the ground to ensure everything runs smoothly.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being active, outdoors, and part of a close-knit team that’s making a real difference every single day. It’s hands-on, varied, and genuinely rewarding, with plenty of scope to shape how the service evolves and grows. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to make a difference.

-You will have experience in caretaking, estate services, or general maintenance
