You will be joining an exciting and fast paced environment that provides high quality addictions and recovery care to a diverse service user group, where service user involvement has an authentic voice in service design and delivery.
Deputising for the Borough Lead, the post holder will support the leadership and take responsibility for the professional heads, voluntary sector leads, and the management team provide demonstrable assurance that the quality of the clinical services including patient safety, patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes meet the required high standards. This will include investigations into serious incidents, complaints and robust systems to ensure incident learning within PSIRF, as well as staffing issues, appraisal, supervision and training of staff, compliance with mandatory reporting and assurance that the environment is fit for purpose.
Richmond and Wandsworth Community Drug and Alcohol Service (RWCDAS) is part of the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM), within the Addictions Directorate. The Trust provides recognised high-quality learning and development opportunities as well as offering the chance to be involved in research projects through the Institute of Psychiatry and globally respected Addictions Department.
This is a consortium partnership comprised of We Are With You, St. Mungos, CDARS and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) with SLaM being the lead agency in this model. This is a cross-borough contract since 1st April 2020 with shared leadership and specialist roles as well as local core services.
WCDAS and RCDAS provide an excellent and first-class range of drug and alcohol treatment options to residents of the two Boroughs, delivered by nurses, recovery workers, psychologists, volunteers, peer mentors and medics. Our services are busy and dynamic, with a strong recovery focus. We currently operate core sites in Wandsworth and separately Richmond, a recovery hub serving both boroughs plus various satellites, including in primary care. We in-reach to local hospitals, offer street outreach, and work closely with local stakeholders including social care and mental health. We also offer online programmes to complement our face-to-face key working and group work.
Reporting to the Borough Lead, the post holder will provide support in leading the senior clinical staff in developing a clear integrated care pathway with effective evidence-based interventions throughout the Consortium.
To ensure the services are delivered using the resources available and to identify opportunities to achieve further income and resource.
To take responsibility to oversee recruitment, motivation and training of the workforce.
To be visible and available and to manage the performance of clinical leaders to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
Support the Borough Lead by taking responsibility for implementing effective addictions care pathways for Richmond and Wandsworth clients throughout the RWCDAS treatment system and to review and improve treatment and recovery outcomes for clients.
To provide demonstrable assurance that the delivery of research objectives as set by the SLaM Addictons academic leader are being met.
To provide demonstrable assurance of continuous quality improvement of effective and efficient clinical services by ensuring staff are engaged in these initiatives.
Provide line management to the multi-disciplinary team leaders, in conjunction with the Borough Lead, and to ensure the various disciplines in the service work within the agreed Partnership and Trust HR policies.
To ensure that all Key Performance and Quality indicators and other contractual obligations are met within the Local Authority Commissioning Contract.
To oversee a specific pathway within RWCDAS for a period of time if the usual lead is absent or the pathway requires review/improvement
