Help transform lives like O’s.
My name is O. I'm 17 years old. When I arrived in Glasgow, I was held captive. I managed to escape. I had no money or belongings. I was found by police and later accommodated in Kelvin Project.
Staff at Kelvin are supporting me daily to live independently, they are patient and kind when teaching me how to cook, they also help me with budgeting my money and buying food. I love to draw, and I have a few canvas pieces of artwork displayed within Kelvin which I am very proud of.
24hr staff support is important to me as I cannot sleep well and at times feel isolated in my room. Staff always give non-judgmental and friendly support, no matter what hour of the day. I believe I can now start to plan a future for myself.
At Kelvin Project staff aim to offer a safe and supportive environment for young unaccompanied asylum seekers aged 16-25 years, facilitating their transition into independent living while ensuring their safety and well-being. Staff strive to empower the people we support to make informed decisions about their futures and create a respectful community where positive choices are encouraged and supported.
