Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our specialist MS service as an Infusion Nurse, where you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients receiving disease-modifying therapies. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care tailored to the individual needs of each patient. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will monitor patient response to treatment and report any clinical changes to senior nursing or medical staff. The role includes the safe and effective administration of intravenous infusions and other prescribed treatments, in line with Trust policies and protocols. You will be expected to maintain accurate clinical documentation and provide emotional support and information to patients and their families throughout the treatment process. You will also ensure that all clinical equipment is in good working order and report any faults or incidents promptly. To succeed in this role, you will need demonstrable experience in venesection and cannulation, with the ability to administer IV medications safely and confidently. Previous experience in a similar outpatient, day unit, or infusion service setting is desirable, though not essential. Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills are crucial, alongside a calm, reassuring approach to patient care. We are looking for candidates who: Have current NMC registration and relevant clinical experience. Can demonstrate competence in cannulation and IV therapy administration. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Are confident working autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team. This is a Monday to Friday role, with occasional weekend cover required based on service needs. No driving license or additional checks are required beyond standard NHS pre-employment screening.
