Summary

Provision of a wide range of procurement support to the Council's Procurement Team with sourcing, purchasing, contract and supplier management functions for a wide range of suppliers, services and works and enables the most effective use of the council's resources whilst meeting Client's needs. Assisting in the day-to-day management of the council's e-tendering portal and other IT systems.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Central Procurement team which implements innovative procurement solutions to ensure the Council achieves best value through its relationships with suppliers, companies and other partners.
As the Procurement Support Officer, you will be joining a small, busy team dealing with a number of categories and spend areas. This is a great opportunity for someone interested in developing their career in procurement. You will be undertaking procurements and supporting exciting and complex tenders alongside producing performance and activity reporting; this will be completed by using specialist e-tendering and solutions and financial system. Therefore, proven experience of using electronic systems and Microsoft office (especially Excel) is essential.
The post holder will also need to have good communication and analytical expertise as well as the ability to organise and prioritise daily tasks and workload. The role requires the candidate to have excellent teamwork skills and the ability to create good working relationships both across the Council and its partners and with external suppliers
There is an expectation that you will be studying or willing to study for a relevant qualification including CIPS level 4.
Your time will be spent working from home, other sites and the office to enable you to balance your home and work life. Determination and enthusiasm will be key, and you will be working with a range of stakeholders so relationship building will be important.
