Are you passionate about supporting families and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people? We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Family Liaison and Safeguarding Officer to join our safeguarding team as the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead who will also have the responsibility for being the Operational Lead for safeguarding and child protection within the school playing a vital role in promoting a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work with a range of vulnerable pupils
• Work closely with the pastoral team in addressing the needs of children to achieve their full potential or help accessing the curriculum.
• Operational lead responsibility for all safeguarding and child protection matters arising at the school
• Supporting and directing other staff to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
• Work with the lead attendance to support and improve attendance including home visits
• Work closely with families and signpost to other support services
• Develop individual learning plans working with individuals/groups
• Act as a point of contact for families, offering support, guidance, and advocacy.
• Work closely with staff, external agencies, and families to identify and address safeguarding concerns.
• Lead on safeguarding referrals and maintain accurate, confidential records in line with statutory requirements.
• Support the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Deliver training and raise awareness of safeguarding and child protection across the organisation.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals.
What We’re Looking For:
• Qualified as a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (Level 3 Safeguarding)
• Experience in Early Help, safeguarding training, multi-agency working
• Experience in a pastoral or family support role.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation and best practices (e.g., Keeping Children Safe in Education, Working Together to Safeguard Children).
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, discretion, and professionalism
