Summary

Family Assessment Worker - Immediate Start
Locations: East London Area Wansted / Ilford
Hourly Rate: £13.00

Are you passionate about supporting families to create safer, healthier home environments? We are currently seeking dedicated Family Assessment Workers to join our team in East London, providing essential support to families in residential units, including Mother & Baby placements.

Shift Patterns Available:

  • Day Shifts: 08:00 AM - 17:00 PM (Monday to Sunday)
  • Afternoon Shifts: 15:00 PM - 21:30 PM
  • Sleep-in Shifts: 21:00 PM - 08:30 AM
  • Waking Night Shifts: 21:00 PM - 08:30 AM

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting Assessments:
Carry out comprehensive family assessments, evaluating parenting skills, child development,

Providing Direct Support:
Offer hands-on guidance and support to parents-this may include parenting advice, childcare assistance, and helping families navigate local services.

Collaborative Working:
Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals including social workers, therapists, and health visitors to ensure a wraparound approach to care.

Observational & Report Writing:

  • Conduct 20-minute observational recordings in Mother & Baby units, focusing on parent-infant interactions and care routines.
  • Accurately document and upload reports to the internal system to contribute to formal assessments and reviews.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with vulnerable families, particularly in family assessment units or Mother & Baby settings
  • Strong observational and reporting skills
  • A working knowledge of safeguarding procedures and family intervention frameworks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Confidence working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
