About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Engineering Teacher to join a thriving technical education department in Leeds from September 2025. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity ideal for someone passionate about delivering exceptional technical and academic education in Engineering.

You will play a key role in supporting the college's mission to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in engineering and related fields.

Essential Requirements

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • A passion for teaching and a strong commitment to student success.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

Essential Skills and Qualities

  • Strong subject knowledge in Engineering principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities.
  • Adaptability and willingness to innovate in teaching methods.
  • Skilled in using IT and digital tools for teaching and learning.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Engineering across Key Stage 4 and Post-16.
  • Teach a range of topics such as mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and inspire learners.
  • Deliver practical sessions in line with industry standards.
  • Assess, track and report on student progress and achievements.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and resource planning.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with college policies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects.
  • Support students with pastoral issues and provide guidance when needed.
  • Use digital tools and software to enhance learning and assessment.
