About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our supportive, values-led community. This fixed-term role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and who thrives in a structured, respectful environment. Working across Key Stages 3 and 4, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping educational experiences that matter.

Essential Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).

  • Proven ability to support learning in a classroom environment.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Team player with flexibility and resilience.
  • Ability to form positive, productive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide in-class support for pupils with varying educational needs.
  • Deliver small group and one-to-one intervention sessions.
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
  • Support students with SEND, EAL, and SEMH needs.
  • Foster a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment.
  • Encourage pupil engagement through praise and appropriate challenge.
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions and student progress.
  • Promote positive behaviour management in line with school policy.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals.
  • Implement strategies as directed by the SENCo or class teacher.
