About the Role

We’re looking for a Business Support Officer (Level 3) to join our Children’s Support Services, providing essential administrative support to the Fostering Team at Nottingham City Council. This city-wide role focuses on delivering high-quality business support, particularly around Kinship Care compliance checks, and supporting the team in meeting statutory responsibilities under the Children Act 1989. One post is available.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

·Essential Qualifications

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or relevant experience demonstrating equivalent skills.

Essential Experience

  • Proficient use of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working in a pressured, confidential environment.
  • Experience using Liquidlogic or similar case management systems.

Essential Knowledge

  • Understanding of business support processes in a local authority setting.
  • Awareness of safeguarding and confidentiality in children’s services.
  • Knowledge of UK data protection legislation, including GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Essential Skills and Competencies

  • Strong communication skills across various formats (face-to-face, phone, email).
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and problem-solve effectively.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and a customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work with discretion in a sensitive environment.

This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016); therefore, fluent English is essential.
A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required.
