CITRUS ARTS OVERVIEW
We are one of Wales’ leading Outdoor Arts & Circus organisations and are renowned for delivering bold and ambitious projects from our home in the Welsh valleys. Based in an old chapel building and the grounds of a disused colliery, we bring the ethos of the travelling circus to our community to make creativity a part of everyday life.
We ignite creativity to connect our community to self, to each other and to the land by building spectacular shared experiences. At Citrus we inspire, upskill, nurture confidence, create capability and opportunity, and bring the community together.

The Main Purpose of the Role:
To strengthen our relationships and engagement with local and creative communities.
In this role, the Community Coordinator will design and implement a programme—supported by senior leaders—to foster meaningful connections, deepen community engagement, and build relationships with local people, community groups and organisations whose work aligns with ours.
The Community Coordinator will collaborate closely with the community to shape new programmes, partnerships, and creative initiatives.
A key aspect of this role will involve contributing insights and learnings to senior leadership, supporting monitoring and evaluation efforts, and assisting with fundraising bids.
Above all, this position is about bringing people together and championing creative ideas, wherever they may emerge.
We hope this opportunity will empower the successful candidate to grow as a practitioner, facilitator, and creative leader.
The responsibilities and tasks within this role are necessarily broad, however, Citrus envisages the successful candidate working alongside existing staff to identify priority projects amongst these areas of work and develop them in order, over time.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will undertake the following responsibilities, developing a priority plan with senior leaders at the start of the engagement:
Programme
• Lead on ideas for the development of year-round community collaboration initiatives, fostering meaningful engagement and creative partnerships.
• Deliver these initiatives, ensuring Citrus remains deeply connected with local and creative communities.
• Co-create innovative programmes alongside community members, shaping ideas that reflect shared visions and aspirations.
• Identify and communicate to senior leaders key requirements for success, including additional funding, resources, staffing, and support

Strategy
• Implement established measurement processes and support evaluation efforts to ensure impactful and informed decision-making.
• Create opportunities for community members to access external creative and cultural experiences at live events.
• Identify and develop platforms to showcase the organisation’s work and highlight the contributions of participants at external events.
• Contribute to company strategy, particularly in shaping and strengthening engagement with our communities.
• Expand the organisation’s external presence by responding to community enquiries and exploring new collaboration opportunities.

General
• Participate in project and Company meetings as required.
• Represent Citrus Arts in a professional and positive manner, always acting in its best interests.
• Report any safeguarding concerns promptly to the Executive Director, ensuring full compliance with the Citrus Art’s Safeguarding Policy and Guidelines.
This list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and the Community Coordinator may be required to take on additional duties as needed, at the discretion of the leadership team.

As a dynamic organisation operating within Outdoor Arts and Circus, adaptability and a flexible approach to work are essential to the way Citrus operates. However, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace that respects individual needs, strengths, and limitations.
