Summary
This post will play an active role in all aspects of the Paediatric team commitments, including participation on the middle grade rota.The post holder will be expected to participate educational and research activities within the department.The post holder should be fully registered with the General Medical Council (London) and comply, in particular, with the GMCs guidance on Good Medical Practice.The applicant must have a minimum of two years post-graduate training experience and:- At least six months experience in Paediatrics/Neonatology or equivalent experience andcompetencies.- A post-graduate qualification DCH, DCCH or MRCP/MRCPCH is desirable. A firm grounding in neonatal care and general Paediatrics is required.The post holder will also be able to attend General Paediatric Clinics and Neonatal High Risk clinics.There will be opportunity to attend teaching and training sessions. Development of a special interest will be encouraged.So far as is consistent with the proper discharge of the above duties, the post holder may deputise from time to time for absent colleagues.In addition, the post holder will be expected to:Perform additional duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances (exceptionally).Be available for such irregular commitments outside normal rostered duties as are essential for continuity of patient care (exceptionally).Contribute to the achievement of the Trusts Strategic Objectives.Respect and practice the Trusts People First values:- Treat all people with compassion, care, courtesy and respect;- Respect each persons right to privacy, dignity and individuality;- Take time to be helpful;- Respond quickly and effectively;- Always give clear, concise explanations;- Practise good listening skills;- Develop and maintain an appropriate environment;- Look the part;- Deal effectively with difficult situations;- Perform as a team.Actively participate in the annual cycle of appraisal and job planning.Undertake mandatory training as directed.Demonstrate commitment to IWL principles and flexible working patterns, to meet the needs ofthe service and staff.Tackle discrimination and harassment, and promote equality and diversity in the workplace.Reduce sickness absence; work place accidents; and promote zero tolerance on violenceagainst staff.
