Love hands-on work? Skilled in using tools, fixing things, or working with materials like wood, metal or electronics?
We’re looking for a practical, organised and enthusiastic D&T Technician to support a busy secondary school workshop. Ideal for makers, engineers, DIYers, model builders, or those from automotive, joinery, electronics or hobbyist backgrounds

You will support teaching and learning by:
• Preparing tools, materials and equipment for lessons
• Maintaining and repairing workshop machinery (e.g. pillar drills, bandsaws, laser cutters)
• Ensuring tools and machines meet health & safety standards (BS4163/CLEAPSS)
• Supporting teachers and students during practical activities
• Keeping the workshop clean, safe and well-stocked

The role includes working alongside teachers to support learning in practical lessons and demonstrations.

Candidates should:
• be able to communicate effectively with young people to support learning and development,
• be flexible, committed and possess sound administrative and IT skills.
• have experience of working in an appropriate technology or workshop environment and know how to operate and maintain machinery, tools and equipment.
• possess a working knowledge of health and safety requirements.
