Summary

Theatre Royal are looking for individuals who enjoy working with young people to join their licensed Chaperone team. You will ensure the welfare and safety of our Young Company during rehearsals and performances of our Christmas production of Rapunzel.

A Chaperone acts as a loco parent to the child/ren in their care. The Chaperone’s first priority is always to the young person. The Theatre Royal believes that protecting and ensuring the safety of children, young people and vulnerable adults is the responsibility of all staff. As a company, we have a moral and legal obligation (duty of care) to contribute to their safety and wellbeing and ensure that all children, young people and vulnerable adults are treated as individuals, so our work can develop their potential in an environment that protects them and keeps them safe from harm.

There may also be further chaperone opportunities on in-house productions during the year.

The best interests of the Young Company will be at the centre of your work.

You will be required to have an enhanced DBS check and will need to apply for a professional chaperone licence and have extensive experience of chaperoning children/ young people.

Due to the nature of our business, this role is offered on Fixed Term contracts. This will include daytime, evening and weekend work.
