Are you graduating in 2025 with a 2:1 or higher from a Russell Group or Top 20 UK university?

A progressive and inclusive secondary school in Langport, part of a successful Multi Academy Trust, is recruiting motivated and enthusiastic graduates to join as Graduate Academic Mentors (Graduate Teaching Assistants) starting September 2025. This is a full-time, paid role offering a unique chance to work alongside exceptional teachers, develop key teaching skills, and make a positive impact on students’ learning.

  • Science (all disciplines)


  • Mathematics


  • Modern Foreign Languages (especially Spanish, some French)

  • Nutrition / Food Technology

      Your Role:
      • Supporting classroom teaching in your specialist subject or more generally as required


      • Working one-to-one or with small groups to boost students’ confidence and skills


      • Assisting with lesson planning, creating resources, and managing behaviour


      • Promoting a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere


      • Gaining a thorough understanding of daily school operations and educational practice


        Ideal Candidate:
        • Graduating in 2025 (or recently graduated) with at least a 2:1 degree


        • Preferably from a Russell Group or Top 20 UK university


        • Passionate about supporting young people’s learning and development


        • Interested in one or more of the key subjects listed above


        • Reliable, adaptable, and proactive


        • Experience working with children or young people is a plus, but not essential
