Job Overview
• You will be part of our onsite security team located in Churchill Place, Canary Wharf and will be leading operations within a high-tech Regional Security Control Room that montors a UK wide estate. • As a Control Room Commander, you will oversee CCTV surveillance, security monitoring, incident response, and emergency escalation, ensuring the protection of the client estate, assets, personnel, and events. You will play a critical leadership role, ensuring compliance with security industry standards while supporting on-site security teams through collaboration and strategic communication.• The RSCR will play a vital role to the security and protection of the client estate as well as it's people, as commander you will play an integral part of the security escalations and intelligence cycle. You will be key in the sharing of intelligence and information across the UK wide estate. • You will directly link with the global travel and risk management team as well as the bespoke watchkeeper intelligence service. The RSCR team will be the 1st point of contact for security escalations and will liaise with th watchkeeper service to actively engages in threat monitoring, real time alerting and intelligence reporting.
Main duties
• Control Room Leadership: Supervise and manage Control Room Operators, ensuring efficient security monitoring and response, be the focal point or managing operations in the control room and understand all processes to guide officers to deliver the best service. • CCTV Monitoring & Surveillance: Oversee innovative and high-end security systems, ensuring continuous surveillance and proactive threat detection across the client estate and prepare to relay tactical advise to the control room teams. • Threat Detection & Analysis: Utilise security analytics and data to assess risks, manage events, and handle incidents using the latest technology for security reporting, as well as triage for escalation effectively• Incident Management & Response: Lead security incident responses, unauthorised access investigations, and emergency escalations with efficiency through contract processes and using the security management platform. • Communication & Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between security officers, security management, workplace teams, travel risk teams, and estate management through the intelligence hub.• Access Control & Alarm Systems: Supervise entry and exit point monitoring, alarm response, and false positive management.• Disrupt Effects Framework: Implement and refine security strategies to mitigate risks and enhance safety. Be part of an evolving team that will continually look to improve and develop with the control room. • Emergency Procedures: Direct crisis response efforts, coordinating with emergency services and internal teams, coordinating with site based and landlord teams. • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure accurate security records, incident logging, and adherence to AI's and SOP's, including monthly confirmation testing. An assessment will be required prior to starting the role assess skills and proficiencies.
Person Specification
• Excelled interpersonal skills; be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team. • Ability to communicate confidently at all levels including stakeholder engagement.• Ability to manage own workload to meet team deadlines.• Ability to lead with experience in security control room leadership• Experience with incident management and managing security events• SIA CCTV License (mandatory for CCTV monitoring roles)• Extensive experience in a control room environment (security, law enforcement, or corporate security leadership preferred), demonstrating the ability to maintain composure and a calm demeanour in a pressurised setting.• Aptitude to work on a variety of security systems unique to the contract (full training will be given) • Proficiency in security technology (CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and analytics tools)• Ability to analyse security data and make informed decisions.• Knowledge of travel risk management and the ability to review multiple data sources to formulate a cohesive report to client staff. • A good all-round understanding of site security procedures and SOP's acting as a focal point of contact for staff members of all levels within the business.• Understanding of the Disruptive Effects Framework and its application in security.• First Aid & Emergency Response Training (preferred).• A willingness to learn and develop and show high level of commitment and professionalism. • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PPT, Teams and Sharepoint and ability to stay current with system information, changes and updates.
