This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Youth Offending Service.
We pay an attractive salary of £25,584 - £27,269 and offer access to training and development opportunities.
An opportunity has arisen in the Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly Youth Offending Service (YOS) for an Administrative Assistant in the Business Support Team, working alongside Clerical Assistants and supported by the Information and Performance Manager. The post will be based at our offices at Woodfieldside Business Park, Pontllanfraith.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic person to support the YOS. The successful applicant will be a team player and be able to support the service and their fellow colleagues by providing a high level of administrative support.
You will be required to organise, coordinate and minute meetings to a high standard. The YOS has many partnership meetings which aims to support children and families to prevent offending and reoffending. Some meetings are held externally in other locations so the successful applicant must be able to travel to different locations across both authorities to support the service.
Does this sound like the right job for you? If so, we will provide you with the following:
Comprehensive induction
Training to promote your continued professional development
Evidenced based and timely decision making
Regular supervision and an annual appraisal
The support of experienced Senior Practitioners and Team Managers
Visible and strong leadership from the YOS Management Team
Interviews will be held on 13.08.2025. No alternative date for interview can be offered.
For the role, we ask that you have:
1. 5 GCSEs Grade A*-C or equivalent Level 2 qualifications on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales or a relevant Level 2 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example NVQ2 Administration
2. Working knowledge of a comprehensive database
3. General office, administrative experience
We have excellent benefits including the Local Government Pension Scheme, agile working patterns and staff discount schemes.
