Summary

Location: Working hours can be split between home and office depending on specific task requirements.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Health and Safety Team.

The Health and Safety Team requires a qualified and experienced Fire Safety Officer to assist with providing fire safety support to all services of the local authority.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will work with us as part of a team. The role will primarily involve carrying out fire risk assessments, fire safety inspections and the production of written reports. Other duties will include supporting with the preparation and the development of fire safety policies, developing/revising fire guidance and procedures and providing fire safety advice/guidance.
Excellent communication skills are essential as the successful candidate will be required to build effective working relationships and provide specific advice to premises managers and staff at all managerial levels. The Officers may also be required to meet with members of the public and representatives of external organisations. The role requires excellent fire safety knowledge, IT skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
For the role, we ask that you have:
1. A relevant Level 4 fire safety qualification e.g. HNC Fire Safety and be a Member of the Institution of Fire Engineers
2. Previous experience of working within the Fire Service
3. Knowledge of Technical Fire Safety Standards and Regulations, Codes of Practice etc.
