Join Our Innovation Delivery Group as a Project Team Manager
The Innovation Delivery Group is seeking a Project Team Manager on an 18 month assignment to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll manage a team of up to ten project management professionals in a hybrid work environment that includes remote work, local office days, geographical hub days, and national team meetings.
Your Responsibilities include:
• Lead and Support: Oversee a team delivering complex, national projects and programmes, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Career Development: Support team members in their career growth by identifying succession paths, training, and development opportunities.
• Promote Wellbeing: Champion health, safety, environmental protection, and wellbeing as fundamental values in all activities.
• Collaborate Effectively: Work with fellow project team managers to ensure our project portfolio is well-resourced and meets the expectations of our internal clients. Promote collaborative working practices across the team.
• Compliance: Ensure your team adheres to relevant legislation and policies, delivering projects in line with financial requirements.
• Portfolio Leadership: Contribute to the overall management of the Innovation Delivery Group through portfolio leadership opportunities. E.g. Training and development lead role

Everyone that joins us is required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when the need to respond arises. The team
The Innovation Delivery Group’s mission is to execute national projects and programmes that support the Environment Agency's business plan and effectively manage corporate risk.
We offer Project and Programme Management Services, specialising in turning innovation into reality, reducing corporate risk through new ways of working. As a small and agile team, we prioritise flexibility for effective delivery. Our goal is to serve as the Agency's innovation hub, showcasing, implementing, and addressing frontline needs.
Experience/skills required
• Mentorship and Support: Demonstrated ability to mentor and support teams in delivering their work.
• Interpersonal and Influencing Skills: Strong relationship management skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience: Significant experience in project, contract, and/or people management. Experience in engineering, construction, or flood & coastal risk management is desirable but not essential.
• Education: A degree (or equivalent experience) in engineering, environmental science, geography, or a related management discipline. Chartered membership of a professional body such as APMP, CIWEM, ICE, or a management institute is preferred.
• Training: Completed training in project, contract, HR, or business management.
• Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in delivering results in a relevant field of work.
