JOB TITLE: Housing Leasehold Officer

Pay rate: £30.00 per hour PAYE
Working Arrangement: Hybrid working with a mix of in office and home working, 2-3 days per week in the office (can be flexible)
Will be required to drive around the area on visits – will need driver's licence and use of own car (a DVLA check will be required prior to commencement of the role).
The role:
On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Leasehold Officer within the Housing team.
This is a 6 month role that requires knowledge of leases generally, extensions, mortgage renewals, welcome packs, section 20 and ideally knowledge on service charges and Right To Buy (RTB).
Key Responsibilities may include:
Manage and respond to leaseholder enquiries regarding their lease terms and obligations.
Process lease extensions and mortgage renewal applications.
Prepare and issue welcome packs to new leaseholders.
Coordinate and administer Section 20 consultation processes for major works.
Provide support with service charge queries and assist in ensuring accurate billing.
Contribute to the Right to Buy (RTB) process, advising on leasehold implications and documentation
What the client is looking for:
A full drivers licence and use of own car for business
Previous experience working within a Housing local authority team
Strong knowledge and understanding of residential leases and related legislation.
Experience handling lease extensions, Section 20 consultations, and mortgage consent matters.
Familiarity with service charges, billing procedures, and the Right to Buy process is highly desirable
Excellent communication and organisational skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
