Your day to day duties will include:Managing the College’s response to requests under Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation within the required time constraints.Providing technical expertise on data protection and information management matters.Advising Heads of Department and other senior members of the College community on records management, FoI and Data Protection matters.Maintaining the College Records Retention Schedule, Information Asset Register, and the Register of Processing Activities (ROPA).Undertaking information audits as necessary in order better to understand and manage College records.Representing the Records Management department at relevant management meetings and the Information Management Committee (approximately 4 per year).To be considered for this interesting role, you will need to bring:Good educational background, preferably to degree level.Experience in administrative systems, records management practice and relevant legislation.Thorough knowledge and understanding of Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation.Thorough working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and e-mail systems.Knowledge of the M365 environment.Highly developed organisational and administrative skills.Good interpersonal and communication skills, including presentations.A relevant qualification in records management and experience in preparation of data protection statements, DPIAs and similar data protection documentation would be advantageous but are not essential.About Downing CollegeFounded in 1800, Downing College in the University of Cambridge has a unique and magnificent setting among twenty acres of lawns and trees, yet is located in the centre of Cambridge. Details of the roleThe post of Records and Information Manager is a permanent part time role. Applications are invited from suitably experienced candidates.Working 22.5 hours per week, with a daily unpaid 30 minute lunch break, there is potential for a degree of flexibility on start/finish times and working days. The expectation is that the majority of work will be completed on site, however limited flexible working may be available. The salary for this role, depending on experience is between £33,861 - £39,678 per annum FTE (36.25 hours) (step 52 on the College Salary Scale).
