This is a practical, community-focused role for someone who takes genuine pride in their local area and is committed to keeping it clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.
The ideal candidate will be hard-working, reliable, and conscientious, with a strong work ethic and the ability to carry out a range of manual outdoor tasks.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:-
Maintain and clean streets and pathways to agreed standards.
Carry out regular litter sweeps and dispose of waste in designated disposal points.
Remove road debris, animal fouling, sick staining, dead animals, etc.
Clear overgrown vegetation to ensure full footpath width is accessible.
Sweep, blow, and scrape pavements, hard standings, and communal areas.
Perform minor pothole repairs to footpaths and report larger defects to the office.
Trim hedges as directed by ILM Highland.
Carry out beach cleans and maintain beach and river paths (May to September).
Once operational, undertake the regular cleaning and upkeep of the community public toilet.
School Crossing Patroller:-
Ensure the safe crossing of children at Kiltearn Primary School, Drummond Road, Evanton.
Patrol during term time from 08:45 – 09:15 and 14:30 – 15:10.
Tools and Equipment:-
Maintain and clean all tools and equipment as required.
Report any faults or damage promptly.
General Responsibilities:-
Undertake relevant training as required.
Adhere to health and safety requirements, taking reasonable care for the wellbeing of yourself and others.
Demonstrate the highest standards of courtesy, hygiene, and behaviour at all times.
Be flexible and open to taking on additional reasonable duties as needed.
