Gravesham Borough Council is proud to serve a diverse and vibrant borough. We are seeking a dedicated ASB Officer to join our Community Safety team and take a leading role in tackling anti-social behaviour that affects the quality of life for our residents.

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and community-focused individual to contribute to our efforts in building safer neighbourhoods. The role offers a hybrid working pattern, with 1-2 days a week working from home.

About the Role

As an ASB Officer, you will manage a caseload of ASB complaints from across the borough. Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate reports of anti-social behaviour and take timely, appropriate action.
  • Engage directly with residents, victims, and perpetrators to resolve issues.
  • Use a range of tools and powers under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 (e.g., Community Protection Notices, Acceptable Behaviour Contracts, Civil Injunctions).
  • Work in partnership with internal departments and external agencies to support a multi-agency approach.
  • Keep accurate case records and prepare reports and statements for legal proceedings.
  • Attend court as required and support enforcement action.
What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is confident, resilient, and committed to community wellbeing.

Essential:

  • Experience managing ASB cases or similar enforcement work.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a varied caseload, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong partnership working and report-writing skills.

Desirable:

  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Experience working in local government, housing, policing, or community safety roles.
What We Offer
  • Salary of £34,000 per annum
  • Hybrid working - 1-2 days per week from home
  • Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • Employee wellbeing support and benefits
  • Ongoing learning and development opportunities
  • A chance to make a visible difference in the community
