Skills & Abilities Ability to work autonomously and make recommendations to employing/contracting organisations without reference to others based upon independent judgement and interpretation of policies. Experience Experience of managing performance concerns in line with regulatory frameworks: Performers Lists regulatory frameworks and Maintaining High Professional Standards (MHPS). Practical experience in managing complex performance cases. Significant experience and success in a number of senior managerial and/or clinical roles. Recent significant experience at senior level with proven track record of using professional knowledge to bring about change. Significant experience of facilitating and managing change within and across organisations. Significant experience of working with senior managers and leaders. Good understanding/experience of educational and management options for addressing poor performance. Previous NHS experience Proven track record and significant experience of successful working with staff to deliver change. Qualifications Educated to Doctorate level or equivalent knowledge, experience and competency. Medical, HR, dental, pharmacy or legal background or experience. Knowledge &Understanding In depth knowledge of Performers List and/or Maintaining High Professional Standards (MHPS) and how these apply in managing performance concerns. An understanding of principles and practices in relation to the promotion of equality and diversity. An understanding of confidentiality policies/procedures. The Advice Service provides a range of services to NHS organisations and other bodies in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and beyond. All Advice service functions contribute to the delivery of NHS Resolutions strategy, and include: Case advice providing high quality expert advice and support to healthcare organisations and practitioners on understanding, managing and resolving individual and team concerns, including proactively monitoring effectiveness of our advice Assessments and other interventions providing enhanced, specialist interventions to resolve complex performance and inter-relational concerns at individual and team level. Education, evaluation, research and insights - identifying and sharing good practice to support improvements to the handling of performance concerns and increase capacity and capability at a local level, as well as supporting our own learning and continuous improvement. NHS Resolution is a not-for-profit arms length of the NHS working for health care providers to resolve claims fairly and to share learning across the NHS and beyond. NHS Resolution operates several indemnity schemes, on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, primarily for the handling of liability claims against English NHS Trusts and other commissioners and/or providers of NHS care. Location This is a homeworking role with travel expected across the UK including England, Wales and Northern Ireland and to our offices in London and Leeds. Our main London office is located on the 8th Floor, 10 South Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London, E14 4PU. There are links to the office via DLR and tube and the closest stations are Canary Wharf DLR station and Canary Wharf station on the jubilee line. We also have an office in central Leeds at Arena Point, Merrion Way, Leeds, LS2 8PA.
