Summary
We are looking for an experienced Second Chef (Sous Chef) to work on a temporary, relief basis to support the kitchen team within a well-loved restaurant in the heart of Dornoch, known for its relaxed atmosphere, warm service and beautifully prepared, bold and luxurious dishes made with the finest local ingredients.
Within this role, you’ll be working closely with the Head Chef and wider team to maintain service standards, ensure smooth day-to-day operations and contribute to a high-quality culinary offering.
What you’ll be doing:
Food preparation and cooking across brunch, lunch and dinner menus
Supporting the Head Chef with kitchen operations, hygiene and compliance
Maintaining high standards of hygiene, food quality and presentation
Contributing to a positive team culture and smooth handovers
What we’re looking for:
A competent Chef with experience of producing high end dishes
A flexible, dependable and proactive approach to kitchen work
Certification in food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to hit the ground running and work as part of a collaborative team
A genuine passion for delivering fantastic food and supporting quality service
