Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a Year 2/3 team. This is an excellent opportunity to support children at a key transition stage between Key Stage 1 and Lower Key Stage 2. Starting ASAP.
Duties as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:
Work alongside the class teacher to support teaching and learning across a mixed Year 2/3 class.
Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups, including those with additional needs.
Assist in preparing classroom materials, setting up activities, and maintaining an engaging learning environment.
Promote positive behaviour, encourage independence, and support pupils' social and emotional development.
Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress.
Support with classroom routines, displays, and the smooth running of daily activities.
Ideal Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with children in a primary setting, ideally within Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2.
A caring, flexible and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
Strong communication and teamwork skills as a Year 2/3 Teaching Assistant.
A good understanding of the Year 2 and Year 3 curriculum.
A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).
A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils.
