The world of Government Digital and Data Profession is moving at pace and skills are in high demand.
Home Office Digital, Data and Technology is seeking to strengthen its early talent pipeline and is investing in building internal capability as a means of addressing resourcing challenges.
In your first year of the Dynamic Graduate Scheme, you will complete two 6-month placements designed to give you broad exposure to multidisciplinary teams working across Digital and Data projects. You will also be encouraged to work proactively and flexibly, contributing to team goals whilst taking ownership of individual tasks, under the guidance of senior colleagues.
During the second year, you will complete a 12-month placement in a chosen specialism.
We also provide tailored training throughout the scheme, along with coaching and mentorship to support your development.
Main Responsibilities
During your first year of the scheme, you’ll engage in a broad range of tasks which will be subject to your placement and may include:
- Establishing and maintaining project controls, keeping the project manager aware of the project status. Preparing project performance reports, presenting statistics and researching new information.
- Analysing and manipulating data across a range of sources, using analytical techniques including data mining, time series, forecasting and modelling, to identify and predict data trends and to provide business insights to stakeholders.
- Managing, collecting, migrating, and cleaning data to ensure data quality.
- Helping to create and maintain realistic plans, and to remove blockers for your team, keeping delivery on track within quality, cost, and time constraints.
- Developing key Business Analysis skills including requirements engineering, workshop facilitation, and process mapping, using these to enhance understanding of various project approaches and software engineering lifecycles, such as Agile, Waterfall and Incremental, whilst exploring resources and industry best practices.
- Designing, building and testing data products based on feeds from multiple systems using a range of different storage technologies and access methods.

- Business Analyst
- Technology Delivery Management
- Project Support Officer (Project Management)
- Data Analyst
- Data Engineer (Year 2 only)
Working Pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis.
Travel
Occasional travel to our Central London or regional hubs may be required. This will be subject to each placement.
