The Team
The Student Opportunities team sits within our Student Success and Learning Services directorate, providing students with opportunities, at home and abroad, which build skills, experience and capability across a broad range of activities. This includes supporting students with internships, placements, DBS applications, volunteering, work experience, part-time jobs, study abroad and global opportunities.
The Role
The Student Opportunities Intern will complete a 12-month rotational placement within the Student Opportunities team, supported by the Student Opportunities Manager (Operations). The role involves supporting the delivery of services and initiatives related to volunteering, part-time employment, DBS appointments, internships, global opportunities, study abroad and student events. They will also provide excellent customer service by responding to requests submitted via the Student Hub.
Required Skills and Experience
York St John University 2025 Graduate
Confident in speaking to students on a one-to-one basis and in groups
Passion to promote our range of activities and opportunities and to engage students
Excellent IT skills, including use of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
Knowledge and understanding of the advantages of gaining a range of experiences while at university and how these can enhance employability
