This post is primarily designed for trainees interested in a surgical career. The successful candidate will play an active role in all aspects of the surgical team commitments and will be responsible for the day to day management of surgical patients. You will be responsible to the consultants and participate in surgery and outpatient clinics. This post will support anyone planning to apply for specialty training. Applicants should have some experience of common surgical procedures.

The post holder will work with Consultant Surgeons and their teams, in the specialty of gastro/UGI surgery. The Fellow will get training in laparoscopic and robotic UGI and general surgical procedures. There would be opportunities to have some experience in single incision laparoscopic surgery. You will take part in preoperative and postoperative care of those patients and in decision making during MDT.
