We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurses to join the Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSOP). The vacancy is for our functional mental health ward (Ward 21).

We are very passionate about delivering high quality person centred care for our patients and providing support for carers/relatives.

• Deliver safe and high quality care to patients.
• Named nurse for group of patients.
• Participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings and work as a member of the MDT.
• Administer medications.
• Risk assess, care plan and evaluate care.
• Co-ordinate shifts, delegating duties.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the ward team under the direction of the Ward Manager.
• To be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of nursing services in the ward/dept in the absence of senior staff on a regular basis.
• To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code .
• To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
• To provide nursing care to a caseload of patients and to provide verbal and written handovers to nursing colleagues and the multi disciplinary team.
