About the Role
Long Term Futures are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join an Alternative Provision in Sherwood. The setting specialises in supporting young people in KS3 and KS4 (ages 11-16) who are unable to access mainstream education.
As a Teaching Assistant, you'll facilitate individualised and small-group workshops, delivering targeted interventions in core subjects. You will offer tailored academic and pastoral support to help students re-engage, develop life skills, and achieve recognised qualifications.
What You'll Do
- Lead 1:1 and small-group workshops to students.
- Plan and deliver 1-1 and small group targeted interventions in core subjects.
- Help implement personalised intervention plans.
- Support emotional and social learning-building resilience, confidence and positive routines.
- Monitor student engagement, behaviour, and progress-adjusting support as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers and wellbeing staff to provide the best support for students.
About You
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN or challenging behaviour.
- Background in education settings-whether mainstream, alternative, or SEND environments is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resilient, proactive, and committed to building trust with students.
