Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Development Officer, who would like to support us to work with communities, organisations and partners to deliver our Physical Activity Framework and support our vision of Leicestershire, Leicester & Rutland: a place where physical activity is part of daily life, leading to people living healthier and happier lives.
Physical activity isn't a nice to have, it is essential to support people to live healthier and happier lives. 'If physical activity was a drug, we would refer to it as a miracle cure due to the many great illnesses it can prevent and treat'.
National guidelines advise that physical activity promotion, healthcare-based interventions and community wide programmes are some of the 'best buys' for getting a population active. As a partnership we want to ensure that we are focusing on improving health (through physical activity) in all our decisions, programmes and policies.
