Summary

The Environment Agency are fully committed to having an inclusive workforce to reflect the communities we serve. We don’t just talk about diversity; we seek it, embrace it, and live it, for the benefit of our staff, our communities, and our environment.

Are you passionate about industrial decarbonisation? Do you want to be at the forefront of work to support the UK’s transition to clean energy?

We are expanding our Energy Industries Decarbonisation Team and are seeking 2 Senior Advisors to lead our preparations for regulating new technologies emerging through the UK’s transition to Net Zero.

1 X Senior Advisor – Skills and Capabilities: Focussing on identifying and developing the technical capabilities, guidance, and tools needed to ensure we are ready to regulate future energy technologies.

1X Senior Advisor – Decarbonisation Strategy Manager: Leading the development of a decarbonisation strategy for the team, working with sector leads and policy teams to understand what is coming, where we need to prepare to regulate, and what action is required across the organisation.

Both roles will work closely and collaborate with the wider team to shape our regulatory approach and ensure we are well-placed to respond to the opportunities and risks presented by the energy transition.

These roles offer a unique opportunity to shape the future of regulation in a high-profile and fast-moving area.

You’ll have an inclusive incident management objective in your development plan. We’ll support you to find an incident role that suits your needs and circumstances, and appropriate training will be provided.

We use smart tools to stay connected and minimise travel, but some travel and overnight stays may occasionally be required
