Are you passionate about creating clear development pathways, building talent pipelines, and embedding the foundations that help people thrive? We're looking for a driven and people-focused Talent & Capability Advisor to help shape and lead the implementation of our global competency framework and early careers strategy.
This is a pivotal role where you'll help ensure our people – across all functions and geographies – have the right skills, structures, and support to perform, grow, and succeed.
The Talent & Capability Advisor role:
As Talent & Capability Advisor, you’ll drive critical initiatives that build long-term capability across the business. You’ll work closely with HR, business leaders, and international teams to embed competency-led talent practices and early talent development across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities of the Talent & Capability Advisor:
• Lead the development and rollout of our global competency framework, embedding it in job design, training plans, and performance reviews.
• Design and maintain job architecture to ensure consistency, clarity, and alignment across regions.
• Own the competency and training matrices – ensuring they reflect current role requirements and underpin individual development and compliance.
• Support the performance management process by connecting competency assessments with tailored development planning.
• Lead succession planning reviews and ensure strong talent pipelines are in place for business-critical roles.
• Design and deliver impactful early careers programmes (internships, placements, apprenticeships) that attract and nurture future talent.
• Research and recommend external training schemes, funding opportunities, and strategic development partners.
• Support UK HR operations including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, and absence management.
Skills & Experience:
• 3+ years in HR or L&D roles, ideally with experience in competency frameworks, performance management, or training coordination.
• Strong organisational and project management skills – comfortable balancing priorities and managing stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to create clear role profiles and engage confidently across all levels.
• A practical, problem-solving mindset and a track record of owning and completing initiatives.
• Analytical skills with great attention to detail, and experience managing data-driven tools like training matrices.
• A collaborative approach – able to build strong working relationships across HR, operations, and international teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and familiarity with HR systems or Learning Management Systems.
Bonus Points For:
• CIPD Level 5 or equivalent L&D / Organisational Development qualifications (or working towards).
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or other technical sectors.
• Prior involvement in succession planning or early careers initiatives.
