Risk assessment, maintaining standards in line with Trust policies and guidelines together with accurate reporting is required during the critical maintenance of the Trust’s fleet of ambulances and the wellbeing of our workforce. Staff training, workplace reviews and maintenance of the training matrix together with coaching are a daily part of the role requirements.

Financial awareness when working with third party service providers is yet another element aligned with this key position.

The role offers wide and varied challenges relative to the requirements of the Trust and daily Fleet operational demands, providing support for the regional management and teams that make up a large, dedicated workforce, split across a 7-day shift pattern, ensuring our workshops continue to safely operate 365 days of the year.

Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident.

We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non-emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
