Are you passionate about supporting women affected by domestic abuse?
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Helpline, Referral & Assessment Officer. This is a pivotal role in supporting women and children who have experienced gender-based violence, helping them access safe accommodation and tailored support services.
- Act as the first point of contact for helpline calls and referrals.
- Conduct initial needs and risk assessments with empathy and professionalism.
- Manage referrals to internal services including refuge accommodation, outreach, and group support.
- Keep detailed and secure case records using digital systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of available spaces and support resources.
- Advocate for service users by liaising with partner agencies.
- Contribute to service development through partnership working and community engagement.
- Participate in the out-of-hours emergency rota.
- Has experience supporting women affected by domestic abuse or other forms of trauma.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is confident managing referrals, assessments, and record keeping.
- Understands safeguarding procedures and information sharing protocols.
- Can work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
