Summary
Under supervision they will be able to support Mental Health Law work including contributing to tribunal reports. The post-holder will also provide cross-cover for leave with the staff grade/clinical fellow on the older adults wards. The successful candidate will receive support and regular supervision from an experienced consultant psychiatrist. They will be expected to develop leadership skills, and to participate in: quality improvement, service development, and teaching. There will also be opportunities for participation in research. Continuing Professional Development is strongly supported. We support interested candidates in preparing for the Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration through the portfolio pathway (CESR), including, where appropriate, acting up under supervision at consultant level. Doctors working to towards CESR have an allocated CESR supervisor and opportunities to see a psychotherapy case with supervision. There are also opportunities to rotate to other areas of psychiatry to support training. The post holders will participate in weekly academic teaching sessions involving: case presentations; journal club; external and internal lectures; and audit presentations. Additional organization-wide educational events occur on a regular basis. There will be a minimum of one hour per week protected time for personal supervision.
