Summary

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Monmouthshire to assist with the appointment of a Cleaning & Hygiene Operative, on a 1-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £12.60 - £16.00 per hour

Summary:

The Cleaning & Hygiene Operative will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment across Council-managed premises. The postholder will be responsible for delivering high-quality cleaning services in line with health and safety standards and the councils commitment to excellent public service.

Responsibilities:

Carry out daily and periodic cleaning duties as required, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, sanitising surfaces, and waste disposal.
Ensure all touchpoints and high-traffic areas are disinfected to maintain hygiene and reduce infection risks.
Replenish supplies such as soap, hand sanitiser, toilet rolls, and paper towels.
Follow site-specific cleaning schedules and protocols.
Ensure safe use and storage of cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations.
Qualifications:

Basic education (e.g., GCSEs or equivalent) desirable but not essential.
COSHH training (preferred or willingness to complete upon appointment).
Manual handling training (desirable).
Essentials:

Previous experience in a cleaning or hygiene role (preferable).
Experience using commercial cleaning products and machinery (desirable).
Experience working in public sector buildings such as schools or community centres is an advantage.

You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
You should have right to work in U.K
This role requires an Enhanced DBS
