Summary

This role holder will be critical in Integrating various systems during the final build phase of Boxer AIT in Stockport. The candidate will be responsible for integrating weapon systems, communication systems, and navigation systems within the Boxer Vehicle. Responsible for testing the above systems and running fault finding throughout the electrical systems.

Main Duties

Undertake the installation of Specialist systems to the Boxer MIV
Test and configure specialist systems (Weapons, Navigation & Communication systems)
Safely move the vehicle around site to further test and configure
Safely handle sensitive and restricted materials / systems
Run in-depth fault-finding activities as systems as integrated
Work within the team and liaise with external contractors and system suppliers
Raising Process concerns and driving process improvements to the engineering department

Qualifications & Education

Minimum of grade C in English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent or equivalent experience

Relevant experience

Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Experience around military vehicles
Military system experience e.g. navigations, communication and weapon systems
Experience of using data systems and being able to learn and adapt systems to assist in continuous improvement
Excellent IT skills and knowledge of MS programmes particularly Microsoft Excel Intermediate level, ability to manipulate spreadsheets
Aptitude, attributes, skills and abilities

Ability to prioritise and organise work with minimal supervision
Exceptional organisational skills and ability to work effectively under pressure

Rate: £19.22 per hour

Hours: 37-hour week – Monday – Thursday 07:00 – 15:30 – Friday – 07:00 – 12:00
