We are working with a leading UK business in the environmental services sector. Our client is the UK's foremost supplier of premium cooking oils and a major collector of used cooking oil and food waste. They are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their Finance team in Liverpool. This is a fantastic opportunity for a finance professional who is either qualified by experience or working towards an ACCA, CIMA, or AAT qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of weekly management accounts with KPIs and supporting information
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Variance analysis: weekly vs monthly vs budget
- Bank and cash reconciliations
- Weekly/monthly payroll analysis and journals
- Accruals and prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations and variance investigation
- Support in annual budgets and forecasts
- Internal audits to strengthen site controls
- Assistance with year-end audits and auditors
- Supporting information for monthly tax computations
Experience & Skills Required
- Qualified by experience or studying ACCA, CIMA, or AAT
- Proven experience in a similar role, independently managing monthly accounts
- Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and accuracy
