Summary

JOB TITLE: Sous Chef

As a Sous Chef you will play a crucial role in a professional kitchen, providing support to the Head Chef and overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, recipe creation, and food preparation.
Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring they follow recipes and meet quality standards.
Oversee food ordering, receiving, and inventory management.
Train and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring they develop their skills and adhere to kitchen protocols.
Monitor food costs and work towards budget targets.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards.
Help develop new dishes and specials.
Assist with scheduling and labor management.
Step in to run the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.
Requirements:

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of cooking techniques.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of kitchen best practices and food safety standards.
Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
